So I "finished" the bath...it still needs the ceiling painted and the trim done; the walls are finished so that helps! I do love it!! Thanks, Mom and Dad, for the funding :)

Cleaning feels so good!
So today, my bestest sister-in-law came over and helped me clean. It may not seem like a fun thing to do on a day off, but it feels GREAT to come home and see a sparkling house. We did this during Christmas break last year, too. Maybe we would be more effective if we did it more than once a year!!
Shannon is a great house cleaner. She has more patience than me (but then again, I think a gerbil might, too. I've not asked a gerbil how much patience they have...) and loves to do detail work. I was impressed that I got the dishes done, vacuumed, and sorted laundry! She worked on the outside of our fridge until it looked brand new. I couldn't believe it...and neither could Shane.
I wish we took more time to stay on top of the housework and laundry. My hope is that as we get it decorated to our tastes we will take more pride in it and WANT to keep it clean. We'll see how that goes!
Tomorrow: lunch with a neighbor and put another coat of paint up in the bathroom!!

Before and during pics
I thought I'd post some BEFORE pics of my bathroom. This is after I cleared it out but before the paint went up. It was painted a "contractor white" that had faded to a dirty grey. Ewwww!
This is after I put a coat of primer/sealer up. It's already much better...and brighter!!
We chose to paint the room Brown Teepee (Behr 700D-4). We took our new shower curtain in and used the color matcher; we know it's a perfect match!! We also picked out a green that matches the curtain that we may paint our bedroom (it's currently dark purple) at a later date.
We have a very earth-tone shower curtain (it's browns and greens) and dark brown accessories. I have an antique bronze shower curtain rod and we will eventually replace the towel holders, too...but that will come with time.
I can't wait to get it finished! Unfortunately I was a little under the weather today so I didn't put the final coat up. Hopefully, tomorrow I can do that and have it all put together before Shane gets home.

Day 1.5 of Project: Bathroom
I'm so excited! I am putting the primer up on the walls today in the bathroom. It's been a long time coming and makes me hopeful that we will eventually get this house shaped up!
Yesterday morning, I washed down the walls, cleaned everything, had Shane take down the blind and taped off the sink and window. Today? Tape off the shower and PRIME!!! YAY!

It's me!
Okay, so I'm joining the forces of bloggers. I'm not sure where this will go...but thought I'd at least start with a trail of the updates we make to our home. We've been in it almost 4 years; it's about time to paint, don't you think?
